APPLAUSE is a unique group of talented young musicians who not only play their instruments, but also sing and dance at the same time. Currently Applause is comprised of six violins, one viola, five cellos, one string bass, one keyboard, one baritone horn, one trombone, one baritone saxophone, one clarinet, one guitar, and a smattering of percussion, yet there are only thirteen musicians! Our Applausicians range in age from 7 to 16-years old (not counting the directors!). They sing, dance, wear costumes, and utilize a variety of props, all while playing their instruments. The children develop most of the costumes, props, and choreography, because the directors just can't stop their abundant creativity. Each of the students takes private music lessons, and two of their teachers, Kerry Borgen and Gretchen Egen, wanted to give the kids a fun and creative way to share their music. Thus, in the Fall of 2004 the group Applause was formed. They rehearse once a week for a few hours. The group is available for private parties. Come see what the Applause is all about!
